November is Military Appreciation Month! Dapplegray thanks all our military families for their service. Remember there is no school Friday in honor of Veteran's Day- Thank A Veteran!
Our Annual Event Supports Booster Club... Have a business or know of a business that may want to be a sponsor for our annual Fundraiser "Friday Night Fever" on February 3rd, 2017? The food collected will benefit the Food for Kids Program at The Volunteer Center, a Torrance based charity which provides meals for Title I students to take home over the weekend. Food is collected during the morning drop off. Even one can of food will help a child. Suggested food items must be non-perishable, non-glass, and non-expired. The full list can be found here.

Reflections Award Winners... The Dapplegray PTA celebrated Reflections participants with a student gallery and awards ceremony on November 3rd. This year's theme was 'What is Your Story?' and many excellent submissions were received across all 6 arts categories. All first place winners will advance to the district contest, with a chance to progress beyond that to regional, state, and national PTA Reflections contests. Thank you to Amie Chessmore for doing a fantastic job chairing this event, and to all the participants for their creativity and hard work!

Together we filled an entire dumpster with trash from our beautiful school, we removed all the prickly tumbleweeds from the walking path and repaired the outdoor reading area between 3rd & 4th grade. Can't wait for everyone to see the results Monday AM. Thank you to all those who were able to join us and to all those who couldn't make it but supported all the work that went into preparing for the day.
